There are many players who decide to become managers after hanging up their playing boots and retiring. It’s turning into a trend to see iconic players from specific clubs joining the managerial department of that club after having made a huge impact in that team.
This is the case of Thierry Henry who is widely considered to be the best Arsenal player in the history of the club. The French player has stated numerous times that he wants to go back to the Emirates Stadium but this time he wants to return as a coach instead of an actual player.
Didier Drogba is also interested in making a return to Chelsea and take charge of the main team.
These are players who have earned the trust and love from their respective clubs and now they want to give back their support by helping out their former teams one more time.
Cristiano Ronaldo is reaching an age when it’s time to start considering about his post-playing career and when a reporter asked him about what are his plans, the Real Madrid star replied by saying that he just wants to relax and: ‘’live like a king’’.
‘’There is another life after football. I think at first it will be tough, but if you ask me now if I want to coach, I would say no, neither as a club manager nor a president. After football I want to live like a king. I’ve become the person I am today because of the time I spent without my family and going through difficult times. I was a teenager, but I had to do things as a man to the point that I had to do my own ironing. My mental strength began at that time’’ Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo said.
ZinedineZidane is an example of a player who has pretty much never left Real Madrid ever since he joined them. The Frenchman originally joined Real Madrid back in 2001 and even after retiring, he continued working with the Spanish club as he went on to become the coach of the youth division of Real Madrid and has recently been elected as the head coach of the main team but this is something that C.Ronaldo wants to avoid doing as he just wants to stay with his family and avoid all the responsibilities and pressure that come with being a manager or anything of that nature.
