FALCAO NOT AT RONALDOS LEVEL

The Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao has said that he is not interested in competing against the Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi or the Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo in the goalscoring charts. Man Utd FC news have already documented how Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi have been dominating the goalscoring records not only in Spain, but in Europe over the last few seasons.

They are once again expected to be challenging for the top honours. However, they could be joined by the Colombian striker Radamel Falcao, who has been one of the impressive players in Europe over the last two seasons.

The 26-year-old helped the Portuguese club FC Porto win four titles in one single season before moving to the Spanish club Atletico Madrid for £ 40 million. He has been recently linked with a £ 45 million move to Chelsea, although the Spanish club have categorically denied suggestions that they would sell their star player for such a low price. Radamel Falcao once again helped Athletico Madrid win the Europa league, while he was extremely influential in the 4-1 win over Chelsea in the UEFA Super Cup. Due to the fact that he already has seven goals in just five la Liga matches, he has been spoken of as the main competition for Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.

“I did not say I wanted to compete with Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi. I simply want to score goals to help my team, nothing more. At the end we’ll see where I am. The most important thing is that the team fulfils their objectives. We are competing with 19 other teams, [sic] not only against Madrid and Barca,” said the striker in a recent interview. Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked with a move away from the Real Madrid after claiming that he is unhappy at the Spanish club due to the professional reasons.
