HARD WORK

The Tottenham winger Gareth Bale has revealed that it requires extreme hard work in order to score a free kick like the Real Madrid attacker Cristiano Ronaldo, who is famous for his brilliance free kicks. The Portuguese winger Cristiano Ronaldo became one of the best players in the world during his time at Old Trafford. He scored numerous goals for the Premier league club despite playing as winger. A large portion of his goals came through free kicks from several positions across the pitch. Gareth Bale recently helped Tottenham record a 2-1 win over their Europa league opponents Lyon by scoring a free kick like Ronaldo in the final few minutes of the match.

After the encounter, the Welshman has revealed that scoring a free kick like Ronaldo is not easy as it looks. Bale has revealed that he has been practising this technique for several months now. Ronaldo’s technique involves in hitting the ball in such a way that he is able to generate tremendous amount of power and dip in the ball. As a result, he is capable of scoring from anywhere across the pitch from a free kick. Bale has said that he will be able to master this technique if he continues to practice as he is doing now.

“I’ve been practising for ages now. I think if you keep practising, it does come off in a match. Everybody knows what Cristiano Ronaldo has done with his free-kicks – the way he hits the ball, the style he does it in – and it’s working for him. A lot of players are now trying it out and, thankfully, it’s started to pay off for me, as I’ve scored three goals like it this season,” said Bale after the Lyon match. Ronaldo scored more than 50 goals in all competitions last season.
