After being linked with a return to Manchester United for the last few months, Cristiano Ronaldo has finally confirmed that he will not be leaving Real Madrid at least in the summer. The 28-year-old Portuguese attacker has been subjected to intense transfer rumours after stating last season that he was unhappy at the club. PSG, Manchester City, and Manchester United were some of the parties interested in signing him. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez said that he would go to the ends of the world in order to keep Ronaldo at the club, while new manager Carlo Ancelotti stated that he was looking forward to working with a player of Ronaldo’s stature.

After saying only a few days ago that he missed the English football, Ronaldo has confirmed that he will not be leaving Real Madrid this summer. The player arrived at the Santiago Bernabeu for a world record transfer fee of £ 80 million, but Manchester United have been linked with a bid closer to the fee. After failing to win the league and the Champions League last season, the club will be focusing on winning all the trophies. Ancelotti has arrived with a big reputation of winning two Champions League titles. He has also won this famous trophy as a player.

“I enjoy of course to play there (Real Madrid), I play there for four years so I want to continue there. It is not the best day to speak about my future. I am going to have time to speak about that at the beginning of pre-season,” said Ronaldo. “My opinion is easy. Ronaldo’s a fantastic, marvellous player. It’s an honour to coach a player like Ronaldo like it was to coach Zidane. Ronaldo was not on the list of players like Brazilian Ronaldo, Zidane and Ronaldinho that I coached,” said Ancelotti.
